It’s the last Friday of the month again. Which means Vol. 2 of my N’East Illustrated for Well Spent series is now live on the WS site. Head over to check out illustrations of Choctaw Ridge, Schott x Supreme, Freeman Seattle, Billy Reid and a stylish older gentleman.

Since Supreme leaked a preview of their Spring/Summer 2012 collection a couple days ago, folks have been going crazy about one item in particular. The Schott x Supreme Leather Flight Jacket. A classic Schott custom fit (in black or brown leather) with a tropical print cotton lining, this one is sure to be a hit and our household is very much hoping to cope the brown one (for me or for Mr. NES depending on which size doesn’t sell out first).
I’m really into William Yan’s video series with We Are Not Pilgrims. It’s always a pleasure to listen to talented individuals like Kate Jones of Ursa Major and Greg Chapman of Perfecto Brand by Schott NYC elaborate on their craft and creative process. I look forward to seeing more from this collaboration and can’t wait to see the artisans they feature next.
The Cider House Rules by John Irving is one of my favorite books and the movie is equally classic. Not only are the screenplay (written by Irving himself), location and actors fantastic, the wardrobe is spot on with New England staples like cable knit sweaters, wool pants, worn dungarees and nautical pea coats. Skip at Alex Grant does an excellent job (as always) in recreating Tobey McGuire’s wardrobe by selecting classic items suitable for the 50’s setting of the film and for present day.
Skip put together a really fresh outfit for Darius from Love Jones, our Date Night movie this week. I had actually never seen the movie before this week and am so happy Skip suggested it for our Date Night. It’s a great film about love at first sight and how to take the steps to making it a lasting love. Darius is a man of poetry and jazz and this outfit is the perfect portrayal of the modern gentleman that he is.
