Pretty Penny Stock

It’s March. We’ve gotten a spell of snow drifts and now a day or two of teasing sunshine. And although I’m usually a fan of winter, this mild one has just got me aching for Spring. I cant wait to wear breezy button front shirts (without a jacket), summer dresses, and no socks. Looking through the Penny Stock Spring/Summer 2012 lookbook for their first women’s collection made that ache really unbearable. I was first turned on to Penny Stock by my friend Philip of the Boston shop Sault (they carry some of the menswear pieces). The brand is a byproduct of the recession and a lack of quality apparel at an affordable price point.  Penny Stock answered said predicament with solid iconic pieces at doable prices without sacrificing value. Their complimentary female line, Pretty Penny Stock, is launching their first collection this S/S season. The collection is filled with stripes, drapy lightweight pants, sweet little printed shorts, and the necessary does of chambray. Basically my wardrobe in the warmer months. The collection will be hitting stores (including Unionmade, Blackbird, Urban Outfitters, and Need Supply Co.) this month. There’s also some great drawings in both the men’s and women’s lookbooks that make them really fun to flip through, so be sure to check them both out.
