Jay Carroll and Leonard Greco (a colleague of mine) shot good friend Alice Saunders of Forestbound in her studio for the Levi’s Makers series. She’s currently on the road with Levi’s for their Station to Station tour, connecting “leading figures and underground creators from the worlds of art, music, food, literature, and film for a series of cultural interventions and site-specific happenings.”

I had read about Upstate and seen images of their beautiful product this past winter somewhere and remember chanting to myself, remember this brand remember this brand (this was me pre smartphone). I was so relieved when I finally rediscovered them at the Levi’s shop on Newbury Street. Their product is even more beautiful in person. Founders Kalen Kaminski and Astrid Chastka hand dye each piece, resourcing their own interpretation of Shibori (an old Japanese tradition of dying using a variety of techniques) and dip dying, making every product they turn out of their Brooklyn studio completely unique. Check out this video of them doing their thing in their studio, directed by Jay Carroll as part of Levi’s Made Here series.
Skip was inspired while watching A Charlie Brown Christmas today with his adorable children – and it shows with this great outfit. I absolutely love the brick red Penfield jacket with the dark rinse denim, blucher mocs, and stormy kromer hat. The perfect winter look for a young boy or an older man.
Skip hit it out of the park yet again with this great look from Woody Allen in Annie Hall. Like Diane Keaton’s outfit, this look will take you through practically every date. Whether it’s a movie, picnic, or nice cup of coffee on a sunday morning, you’ll have that great easy and classic look that Woody Allen pulls off so effortlessly.
Skip really hits it out of the park with Thriller (a great request by Junctioned) for this week’s Date Night. The perfect addition to this month’s Halloween themed films, Thriller brings crazy wolf/zombie costumes, the classic prep school football player look, and some killer dance moves to the table. Alas, not many of us can claim that they can bust a move like Jackson, so try and get the outfit down before strutting your moon walk in public.
