Taylor Stitch: Women’s

It is a day to celebrate. Friends at Taylor Stitch announced the launch of their new women’s line that will be released July 17th. Pinch your pennies till then and plan on picking up several of them because I am confident there will be a winning selection.

The highly anticipated BKLYN Dry Goods restock happened this week. The shop was reloaded with 350 vintage and new items, which have been quickly selling. There are a plethora of quality vintage items along with BKLYN Dry Goods own collaborative pieces with the likes of D.S. Durga, Shmee, and Study NY to name just a few. Be prepared to get lost in the goodness of it all for an hour or so.

Happy Father’s Day

Today is the day we celebrate our father’s. Although those of us who are lucky to be blessed with really wonderful father’s, probably find ourselves celebrating every day. I am eternally grateful for the support, love, and protection y father, John Mitchell, has given me every day of my life. Happy Father’s Day DAD!

For more father’s day, check out Max Wastler’s “dadisms” over on All Plaidout (a few from Rev. John Mitchell in there). Also last year’s “Things my father taught me” on All Plaidout.

Wooden Sleepers Summer Stock

Brian Davis has restocked his shop Wooden Sleepers for summer, and by golly is it chock-a-block with goodies. Head over and pick up some classic wares for the dog days of summer including bucket hats, printed short sleeve button front shirts, camo, fleece pullovers, and vintage Ts. Above are some of my favorite pieces.

Chance for Summer

Chance is a gold mine for summer essentials – striped tops, espadrilles, beach blankets, totes. Everything you need to enjoy your days on the lake, by the beach, or in the hills and valleys. Their Summer 2012 collection boast a couple stand-out collaborations. Artist Elliott Puckette hand-drew stripes on a long sleeve tee. The placement of the lines makes each tee a one-of-a-kind. Also notable, is friend and designer Kate Jones’ second collaboration with Chance titled Cali. The collection consists of five pieces that embody the state of California’s desert, sky, and sea. Swing over to the Chance online shop to get your essentials for summer – whether you’ll be comfortable at home or on your way to new adventures and places.

Between Dog & Wolf

If you’re in the NYC area this evening, be sure to head over to Clic Bookstore & Gallery  to see  photographer and friend Mikael Kennedy’s polaroid exhibit Between Dog & Wolf. According to the Mikael, “At the time that I shot these pictures I was starting to feel that border between domestic and wild and I started to look for it in my friends.” Opening reception is this evening from 6-8pm. The exhibit will be up till July 7th, so if you miss tonight make an effort to check it out before it goes down. I’ll definitely be making a day trip to NYC soon to be able to catch it.

Jack Spade Stowaway Nylon Tote

I’m in love with this tote from Jack Spade. Not only is it available in one of my favorite colors (blaze orange), but it’s lightweight and stows away into a small zippered pouch. When in use, the pouch doubles as an interior pocket. The carry handles and shoulder strap give you carry options not common with stowaway bags. This fun little video explains it all.

The Hill-Side & Co.

The Corsillo boys have amazing us once again with The Hill-Side & Co. The collection consists of collaborations with like-minded brands including Mast Brothers chocolate, Topo Designs, Rancourt & Co., Stanley & Sons, Dana Lee, Left Field, and Sit & Read. From tote bags and accessories to jackets and chairs, each peace displays the impeccable craft and artistry of The Hill-Side and their partnering brands. I have my eye on the above items from the collection and am having a hard time limiting myself to just a couple. Head over to the Hickoree’s Floor Two shop in Brooklyn or the webstore to pick up some pieces from the collection.
