The Cider House Rules by John Irving is one of my favorite books and the movie is equally classic. Not only are the screenplay (written by Irving himself), location and actors fantastic, the wardrobe is spot on with New England staples like cable knit sweaters, wool pants, worn dungarees and nautical pea coats. Skip at Alex Grant does an excellent job (as always) in recreating Tobey McGuire’s wardrobe by selecting classic items suitable for the 50′s setting of the film and for present day.

Great outfit. Actually happens to be one of my standards, +/- the pea coat depending on the weather that day. Sadly, it’s June and SF is still cold enough to be able to wear one. I don’t understand the crazy weather here.
It’s a great classic outfit that really looks good on every gentleman. The weather has been crazy in Boston too! It was 60 yesterday and I was wearing a Shetland wool sweater! Where is summer?
