If you’re looking for a tough jacket to get you through this wet and chilly winter, I would recommend springing for the Filson Tin Cloth Field Jacket. It can withstand some rough conditions in the field (and urban settings for that matter). It’s also roomy enough to fit some substantial layers under, but keep in mind it’s pretty hefty so keeping it simple underneath with a Chamois shirt will keep you warm without making you look like Randy in A Christmas Story.
